The Essex Swimming League

Enfield Swim Squad competes in Division 1 of the Essex League. The age groups of eligible swimmers are U12, U14, U16 and Open. There are four rounds of galas for each division, which usually take place between January and June each year.

ESS selection for the Essex League galas is aimed at swimmers who were not selected to compete in the National Arena League. The ESS coaches will select the team for these galas. Some swimmers will compete in both individual events and relays and some in relays only. Please remember that every swimmer is equally important to the success of the team. Double age groups mean that swimmers who may not be selected in one year of competition, may be asked to be part of the team the following year (e.g. a 12 year-old can no longer compete in the U12 category, but may not be selected to swim in the U14 category, as there may be faster 13 year-old swimmers).

Selected swimmers will be notified by the ESS Essex League Co-ordinator. It is vital that you let the League Coordinator know whether you are able to take part in the gala that you have been selected for, as soon as you have received the invitation email.
